Monomorium pharaonis species not accepting any food
I caught a colony of pharao's ant while they were shifting yesterday there are 5 queens, some brood and around 12 workers. I have kept them in a testtube setup and one side is covered and is dark and the other side with the entrance is uncovered which receives light. They have settled down on the dark side so I gave them a slice of apple for carbohydrate and and a grasshopper leg which I tore it open so that they can get the protein, and place both of them on the part which receives light but they were not eating it so after waiting for the whole day, so last night I pushed the food towards the dark side in which they reside and they seemed to have a heart attack ha ha ha! And I hope that they will take small bites out of what I have given them. Is there anything I did wrong or anything I need to do?

They are most likely adapting to their new conditions. Leave them alone and they'll be fine.

Most ants will be fine for a few days without food as long as they have water
Leave them be to settle for a day or two before disturbing them further
