Hello everyone. I just want to inform you guys that the other day I went out on a hike in the Amazon, looking for ant species to study. To my luck, I found what I think was a Camponotus Morretes queen. I was very surprised and extremely excited. I would have never thought to have found a Camponotus queen starting her nuptial flight during the dry season. :D
Anyway, i would appreciate it if you guys could give me any knowledge on any Amazon species, since I am not familiar to the topic. Please be free to share your ideas, facts, ect. and I can't wait to respond to your posts. Good luck on your ant colonies, thanks!

I always found leafcutter ants to be really interesting, maybe you can search for those ?

Odontomachus are plentiful under stones and such. It should be easy to find a founding queen.
