Tetramorium are still active, believe it or not.

I was in a young hardwood forest with a lot of leaf litter, and I lifted a rock and there was a queen! Sadly, I lost her in some leaf litter but it looked like an Aphaenogaster queen. Does anyone know if they lay eggs after hibernation? She was all alone under there aside from some Isopod friends hehe.

Why did the warm weather have to leave? I was getting all ready for anting season to start and then we went back to 2 weeks of cold :cry:

Found a total of 8 P. imparis today. 6 at 2:45, 2 at 4:30pm.

Location: Lincoln, MA
Time: 2:45pm
Temperature: 80F
Humidity: 14%
Pressure: 30.08 in
Wind: 15mph gusting to 25mph
Description of where found: Business park, all ants found along side walks. Some large older trees on premises along sidewalks.
(Conditions observed at an official weather station within a mile of where caught at 2:56pm)

All I had here in Dracut was males flying. Not a queen to be seen.

I was not able to find anything in Somerville yesterday. I will keep a lookout for flights around here today though.

They are differently still flying today, found 2 queens in Somerville.
