NC ants

Hi started this so that us ant keepers in NC SC GA VA and TN can notify one another when nuptial flights are occurring at the time of writing this Solenopsis are flying in WNC and north west SC

Haven't seen any nuptial flights yet but I have seen alates in all the fire ant mounds I've destroyed. Franklin co. NC

They are flying everywhere up on the mountain here. Campo and Tetra. Asheville N.C.

There is a massive nest of camponotus castaneus in my front yard. I check every night but no nuptials yet. I really want to keep this species.

Try checking after some of this big rain we have been getting that's how I caught my Tetra and Campo queens

Hello just wanted to update everyone that in WNC Formica Subscerica are flying I have counted five nests with queens and alates flying

Solenopsis invicta must have flown this morning in Charlotte. Found 1 on my driveway and about 20 swimming in the pool with their wings still attached.
