It needs to hurry up. We have had so many days where I expect to see them and don't

I still haven't spotted anything, but I've noticed some other insects start making their moves.

Anyone know kind of an average date that any nuptial flights start in western WA? I'm new to ant keeping and I'm looking foward to catching a queen, but I'm still yet to see any ants around either despite the fact that it's been pretty warm for quite a while around where I live

I am literally the exact same. I want to start ant keeping this year so bad.

Finally started seeing some ants around in the last couple weeks, but still not fully sure when they'll start their nuptials. Found a tetramorium (not sure of the local species) colony in my driveway today and I saw an active colony of some kind of formica (pretty sure that's what it is, but know for sure it's not formica Pacifica which is the main species I want to go for) last week. I'm not very good with identification of species since I'm not experienced with ant keeping, but pretty sure that's what I found

I've been looking a lot. I am pretty positive that nuptial flights haven't actually started yet

I've spotted Tetramorium sp., Camponotus sp., and some other ant I haven't identified (small, yellowish, very round abdomens) foraging around. Flights will probably start soon with the way the weather is going.
