I'm not sure particularly but I would say near desert trails. You could take a small hike along any trail and look for clastural chambers also.

From my knowledge Acromyrmex Versicolor need to forage for leaves, food and plant matter. This should make your chances of finding a queen substantionally higher.
- Rhytidoponera metallica
- Camponotus consobrinus x2
- **** sp.
- Nylanderia sp.
- Melaphorus sp.
- Camponotus cairns
- Crematogaster sp.
- Colobopsis sp.
- Myrmecia nigrocinta
- Iridomyrmex purpureus
- Camponotus eastwoodi

All of my records for this species in AZ come from Tucson and Tumacacori. Two flights in July, with the majority occurring in the fall, August to October.
If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.
