Wisconsin and nearby sightings thread
Hi. I have seen a couple of ant keepers here that say they are from Wisconsin. I also would be okay if you are from nearby Wisconsin, like Illinois, or something. I'll start this flight schedule thread though.
Re: Wisconsin and nearby sightings thread
I'll start. I have been seeing Monomorrium having flights on tips of grass.
Re: Wisconsin and nearby sightings thread
Good for starting this thread! I will have to keep an eye out for monomorium. What kind of grassy areas have you seen them? Just in yards, or elsewhere?
The last few weeks I've seen a lot of Formica (I think fusca) queens, many still with wings. It seems it's also going to rain a lot over the next week here in southeast wisconsin. I wonder if/how that will affect flights.

Someone in another thread brought up seeing lasius flavus alates in a nest... and I just saw some too! I accidentally dug up an opening to a small colony in a garden, and I saw a couple males crawl out from inside. Not exactly a nuptial flight sighting, but i think it's good to know the lasius are getting ready for it

Re: Wisconsin and nearby sightings thread

Re: Wisconsin and nearby sightings thread
