I believe if they weren't ready for them to fly, some workers would be holding them down so they couldn't fly. I've seen that in videos... seems fine from what I know. Sounds like a nuptial flight and a move just happened to coincide with each other.

Well I see males and females kinda just following the trail of workers transporting brood

Right, this is common as they move with the colony but if some are randomly taking flight, and no one is stopping them, they may be ready to fly as they just so happened to have to move too...

Oh ok that makes sense well guess ill watch these guys until I take a walk down the sidewalk and the trail at 230 :)

I am in Manlius new York near Syracuse. And thank you I'm looking to get another genus queen have a few camponotus I caught during the flight may 26th I believe it was
