today marks the 10th day since I caught my first and only queen ants
I am starting to go insane, for 10 days they are not doing anything except wandering around the test tube doing nothing.
if they were going to die they would have died by now but I don't get why they haven't, they are just wasting my time at this point.
I don't know if this is normal or not but it's just stressing me out at this point and I can't stand 30 minutes without the thought that I could just walk up to the closet I am keeping them in to find out they are dead!
1) they don't drink the water
2)the 2nd one did not rip its wings out
3) I am not seeing any motivation for them to start a colony whatsoever

If they're a semi-claustral species they won't found unless given food. Which one of the ants you caught is having this problem? The Myrmicine ant queen you caught?

If feeding them does not help, they might not be fertile.

today when I checked up on the ants I noticed something strange........a ball of brood!
Now I did not see the queen licking the brood just like in youtube videos, actually, she was on the other side of the tube!
After 1 week when I checked up on her again, I saw her tending to the brood, but my main question is: should they be licking the brood 24/7 or just from time to time?
