hey ac, a couple of hours ago i moved a queen (with no brood) into a jar with sand and a rock, it has already started making its claustral chamber. also i have the test tubed queens in a plastic tube with a heating mat at around 27 degrees is that an ok temperature for Australian ants. thx hears a pic.

Hey guys, I woke up this morning to find eggs in one of the test tubes. This is my first eggs and the heating Matt temperature was just right around 25 degrees.

Those are Camponotus but they arent consobrinus sorry to say, nice queens though mate

That was a bad picture, it defiantly a consobrinus, there is a nest near my house and i watched as they took flight.

Hey everyone, to day is the weekly check up of my founding queen ants. Nothing much has changed since we last saw them except for an increase in eggs and size hopefully they hatch in the next week or two.

its been another successful week with my camponotus, still no lave but it should be soon, iv'e been testing different types of food on a wild colony and they seem to like rolled oats and some banana. really hope everything goes well. :D

hey everyone, i am really exited about a huge increase in eggs, I've counted at least 15+ in one set up that was the first one i caught, most eggs are larger than other because of the first batch. another one has around ten or so, and the last one just started to lay with around 5 eggs. ill post a pic tomorrow morning. hopefully they should start hatching soon. :D
