I didn't know either, but it's pretty cool that they are. It's funny because Prenelopis AND crematogaster are my dream ants. That's the reason I wanted this trade so bad haha
That's so awesome I hope you get crematagaster and then you'll have both your dream ants ;)

Let us remember that even though ants are wonderful creatures, even more magnificent is their creator 😌

Glad to see this thread! I’ve also always wanted some prenelopis imparis since it’s kind of hard for me to keep my ants warm (unfortunately there aren’t any in my area). I likewise had no idea they were polygynous! Another thing: I didn’t realize they actually had repletes, I just assumed that since they were called “false honeypot Ants” they didn’t have repletes. Cool to learn. I also have wanted to keep some carebara diversa, but I live in the US so no chance of that. Keep it up! I’ll subscribe to stay updated!
Keeping:
Tetramorium immigrans x2

Anything but tetramorium please

Hey guys! I haven't been posting lately since there hasn't really been much to update. These ants are super lazy. Although, I have seen a new batch of around 3 - 10 eggs, so that's a good sign. Since my last update..
- I've caught 5 Crematogaster queens
- I've caught TONS of Solonopsis queens, and they have larvae!! (13 queen colony)
- My Tetramorium are eating tons! They're population jumped to around 80 - 100!

You guys can follow my instagram (@antsontario) for updates on all my current colonies~
