Ok so a nanitic passed away some how. It's antenna was stuck to tinfoil, and a 1 leg was squirming while he other legs were curled up. I put it in my hand and after awhile it just stopped moving.

I also believe around 3 new workers/majors have hatched because 3 pupae are gone, and I saw new ants that I don't recognize being there before. But it's really weird because whenever I counted them all up I got around 26 workers, when it should be 32 or 33. It's like they just disappeared, or I'm just bad at counting lol.
I can't upload anymore pictures cause I barely have any more storage left lol. I need a new phone lol.

Now my largest major has dissapeared. I think they may be chewing through the cotton and exiting through one of the ports in the ac adapter. I'm putting thicker cotton in there from now on.

Yep lol
Maybe I'll create a journal for my Lasius alienus queens. Though all the updates would just be me saying "Just checked on my queens, the eggs still haven't developed."

I was wondering when those would be on the gan Project... Do you have any idea why they aren't growing?

My theory is that even though ants in the Bay Area don't hibernate, brood development still stops and energy is conserved for the queen to survive the cooler, but not freezing, weather. Because I'm pretty sure eggs only develop when the queen feeds them right?

Larvae do but eggs don't need to be fed. That would make sense for larvae though.
