So I've collected many many many Queens before after a nuptial flight most with out wings and a few with wings but I've never come across the process of a Queen shedding her wings. Came across this Solenopsis Queen shedding her wings and though I would share it with you all.

Wow, that was neat. For some reason I always assumed they somehow managed to shed their wings in other ways but this was an amazing find. Thank you for recording this event for us all. Also, since you had a nuptial flight there, maybe they will have one here in TN soon. I really want Solenopsis invicta.
