Arizona Ant Fans! Post updates in here!
Hey guys and gals! Alright, I made this thread for people from Arizona to post:
1) Cool ant videos or pictures taken by you Arizonians
2) Queen and Colony updates
3) I want you all to keep an eye out for flight patterns, general things you are noticing, certain species you keep seeing etc. This is so we can post our info here to refer to.
If you aren't aware, Arizona is a very abundant region for LOTS of different species. So we need to gather our info here where we can refer back to it. Making our next time around in 2018 MUCH EASIER AND MORE FRUITFUL!
Still post on the "Soon to be Gan farmer in Arizona" thread or whatever silly name I gave it. Post there for things like meeting up, GAN farmer updates, general information not specific really to research in our state.
Feel free to message me any questions. May take a few days to get back to you as I'm not checking the forum everyday because lots of ants are still hibernating. Happy groundhog day! Winter is almost over.

What is good for getting nice micro picks of ants for Identification? Also is a stereoscopic a need for identifying them?

Michael I'd love to see the picture! But as for viewing ants, you can use a household magnifying glass or get a small attachment micro lens for your phone depending on the phone you have or you can get really expensive and get a nice DSLR camera and micro-Lens for it.
