Now 2 weeks later they are going strong with only 7 casualties and two thirds of the cocoons hatched and there is a steady brood pile of eggs and larvae they drank almost an entire small test tube of water and are eating crushed nuts, disected insects and tons of honey :P
once they even started moving into their food testube

Day 15
There are some larvae in mid form entailing they moulted once or twice and I only had cocoons when I caught the colony. There for when the cocoons start piling up and population explodes I will know the egg to worker time ;)

Day 19
I moved the colony into a new 10 by 13 cm formicarium and new larger outfield right now they are in the pipe that is in the nest
They love honey
I guess they really are called black sugar ants for a reason
