Hi, I'm planning on strarting a Lasius Niger colony with pleometrosis. I couldn't find a lot of information about it so I wonderd if someone had experience with it.

I have done it once with 10 queens. It was a mistake. :(
After the nantics were born they started to eliminate the queens but they failed so I lost many workers. Eventually I had one queen and less than 15 workers. Interesting test, though.

If you do want to try pleometrosis, use less queens.

I am having a hard time finding a heating cable that fits the hybrid nest

I want to try it because of the "head start" of extra workers, it is inevitable to lose queens with a monogyne specie. But it is always interesting to see how it goes with multiple queens.
