Hi everyone :-)
With winter on its way I'm starting to think about hibernation for the ants.
I'm thinking mid November should be a good time for it. But I'm curious about brood.
My queens each have large broods; what do I do if there are still eggs and what not when it comes time to put them down? Do I wait for the queens to stop producing and all brood to be gone? Or does brood hibernate also?

its my understanding that when ants hybernate , they just slow right down , stop lying eggs and any devolping eggs larva etc still get tended to thou their devolpment is also slowed right down. however i could be wrong as i am sometimes being that i am only human.  :D

The opening for the heat cable in the Hybrid nest is 9mm diameter. I'm not familiar with any heat cables but the Zoo Med ones. The little bulbous end on the one shown here is about 7mm and fits easily into the opening in the Hybrid.
