Re: My queen injured her leg
If it's severe then you can't really do anything but if it's just a leg that's slightly injured then it should be fine.
"Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest." Proverbs 6:6-8

Re: My queen injured her leg
I've seen tons of leg injuries on queens while searching, 50% of them seem to be missing at least one leg or their entire abdomen.
The world of the queen ant must be rough.
I caught two C. Pennsylvanicus queens today, one of them was missing half of her legs... but they're all missing from the same side.
Goes without saying she can't right herself, I put it a tinny bit of mulch so that she has something to right herself on. Checked on her before I put her into storage and she was using the mulch for exactly that.
I'll update this when I see if she survives the founding process.

Re: My queen injured her leg
She got better... when I was checking on her I thought she was seizing, but 2 seconds later she layed an egg!
Re: My queen injured her leg
The queen with 3 legs didn't make it. Kinda expected it.
I imagine it'd be hard with legs on only one side.
