Ant Size Chnage
I believe that my ants are tetramorium, atleast that is what I was told, and the queen looks like a tetramorium. However, wild tetramorium that I have been finding are probably 1.5x bigger than mine. My colony is rather new (25-40 workers), so I am wondering if my colony is Tetramorium at all, and if they are, are the workers going to grow in size?
Colonies:
--Tetramorium Caespitum
--Camponotus pennsylvanicus
--Formica Sp.

I keep tetramorium and yes, I know what your talking about. Though maybe not in that extreme. I have seen strong thriving huge colonies in the wild with larger workers than mine, and my first nanitics were very small. maybe the difference was 50%. Now my colony fills a hybrid nest, and you can see a variation of sizes of my workers. I would recommend posting photos for identification.

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

Maybe it could have been Monomorium Minimum?SamuelMamuel wrote: ↑Sun Mar 11, 2018 5:35 pmI believe that my ants are tetramorium, atleast that is what I was told, and the queen looks like a tetramorium. An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.
