So I heard some where that you have to wait until after hibernation for Lasius Neoniger queens to lay eggs, is this true? I was also wondering how long it normally takes from egg to worker, Thanks a lot!

looks like neoniger. If it was caught in the fall, then it probably is. Yes, I have raised two colonies of them and they do not lay eggs until after hibernation. you also can't speed this up by skipping hibernation. egg to worker time is roughly a month

The gaster doesn't really look like Lasius neoniger though

In my opinion when filled with honey her gaster looks longer and weirder than other queen ants.

Come to think of it, yes, it does look a bit different.
