Hi. Does anyone here know what Crematogaster use to build carton nests?

Many Crematogaster spp. live at ground level. Some African species build big cartonous nests in the trees, a little like wasps/termites. I wouldn't know how they go about doing this, but I would guess that sand/fiber and aphid secretions play a role.
