Here's my idea of an ant breeding setup people have gotten pretty close to needing ants in captivity e.g. there captive ant colony's produce queens and males but ant colonies will not inbreed so eventually the unmated queens/males die so I thought if you put two ant colonies in one large aquarium with a divider in the middle that goes partway up the inside of the aquarium the ant colonies can smell each other but not fight each other then come mating season the males / queens in both colonies can fly up and mate then fly back down and their keeper can try to pick as many as they can before their one ant colonies kill them
