Hi,
I'm considering getting Myrmecocystus Mimicus, aka the honeypot ant, but I'm not entirely sure about the temperature to keep them at. So for all you American ant keepers, can I keep them at 26-29℃ (78,8-84,2℉) that's the same temperature I keep my Mediterranean species at and if that's the case it would save me a lot of problems, because then I won't have to use multiple heating mats. And do you have to heat the outworld too, or will room temperature be fine ?

Re: Myrmecocystus Mimicus Temperature
Hey,
They can be kept anywere from 21°C to 40°C in their outworld and anywhere between 28°C - 35°C in their nest. You can use a heating mat if it's not warm enough in your room. Although 28°C is already above average room temperatur.
In short they should do fine. They also don't hibernate so no need to go through the trouble of finding the right spot.

Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.
