So I have a carpenter ant that is in hibranation but she is in my room in a sort of dark place. Should I put her in my basement where it is always dark?

you want her in a cold place as well as dark. If your basement is colder, then go for it. you can make an aluminum foil cover for the tube to keep her dark. If you have an unheated garage that works well.
Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
