Hibernate temperature

So I am in Canada and am keeping a colony of camponotus penn. I have recently moved and no longer have a convenient cellar for which to hibernate them in. The min fridge i have (bachelor life man) only gets up to a max of around 4.4 C (or 40 F for all you 'mericans in the community)

think they will survive okay for their 4-5 month hibernation. I mean it gets pretty freaking cold here so I was thinking it would be okay. But I'd love a second opinion and perhaps someone a little more experienced with fridge hibernation? Only one ive tried was able to get to around 12 C

Thanks!

I keep mine in a wine cooler so I can gradually lower the temperature. The lowest it goes is 10C, which seems to be a recommended temperature.

I look at the max and min outdoor temp and then average it out, assuming underground has a moderating effect on temp. So, for West coast of bc, works out to about 8-10C

Okay, thanks for the advice guus, I decided to just go ahead and put them in the fridge, mainly because I'm not certain of how warm it stays in the normal dead trees and stuff they live in here, but it's already getting about -5 C and -7 at night ( 23 or 19 F for F) so I think that 10C SHOULD be okay
