Hey during the end of October I am going on vacation for a week! I have a Formica subsericea colony with a small amount of workers. What should I do if I need to feed them?

Second: does the queen need honey or sugarwater... I know the workers do but what about the queen?
Keeping:
Formica subsericea: 10 workers
Tetramourium Immigrans: 12 workers
solenopsis molesta: 25-30 workers

Workers disperse food throughout the colony, so feeding workers == feeding the queen. Assuming there is no brood left, you may even be able to stick the colony into the fridge for hibernation. Formica do not keep brood over the winter, so the colony will not be doing much until next spring. Either way, ants can endure for quite a while without food.
If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.
