Argentine Ant Barrier; Vaseline?

My mom had to move down the street and there's a huge Argentine ant trail in the front yard. I found tons of their dead bodies in my room behind their bed and a few of them keep coming out of the carpet in the same spot. In order to keep my ants safe, I covered the legs of the drawer I keep them in with cellophane and put Vaseline on it. Is Vaseline a good barrier or should I be using something else? Thanks.

Argentine ants are so small, Vaseline should be enough, maybe add some other barrier farther up if you feel the need.
