A little honey might be OK but water it down a bit so it is a little easier for them to eat

I guess I don't advice against it, but you have to be carrful. I've fed them early before and camponotus seem to get stressed easier then My othere colonies. Or more forwardly, mine had a tendency to eat there young (egg, pupa, and larva) so just be werry of that

Thanks for the advice. We realized, today, that her water is pretty much gone. The cotton looks a bit damp still but she has no water in the reservoir part of the tube. So now, we really don't have a choice but to disturb her. We attached a new test tube with fresh water and hope she transitions into it quickly and smoothly. Maybe once she's in with her larvae, I'll give her a little honey before closing the entrance up.AntViking wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 8:17 amI guess I don't advice against it, but you have to be carrful. Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.
