Trap jaw kills nanitic and found for 3 time
So one of my trap jaw queens obtained a pupa after trying to found for 2nd time. This got me very exited and I waited patiently trying to disturb her as little as possible. After a month passed i checked her test tube inside the outworld and noticed the pupa was open but I saw no nanitic. Then I observed the nanitic chopped up in 3 pieces wich made me very heartbroken and she had a batch of eggs around 5 -10.
Is there a reason for this unusual behavior?

Odontomachus Should Be Treated Like A Semi-Claustral Queen, Probably The Mistake You Did.

Re: Inquiry
I kept her in a nice dirt outworld with a test tube set up where she lived. After she finally obtained her first pupa, I left her for like a month just putting food in the outworld. I noticed she stopped eating or even going into the outworld. After a month passed, I decided to check her tube, but all i saw was the chopped up carcass of the nanitic and the shell of the pupa she came from. This made me really worried so I did what a fellow Trap Jaw keeper does, he raises his Trap Jaws in test tube set ups, which works fine for him. i am applying his method and i am seeing the queen eating again and caring a little more for the brood.

I fed her every 3 days, but she never foraged for food and I didn't want to touch her test tube just to not stress her.Will230145 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2017 4:19 pmTrap jaw queens are semi-claustral you HAVE to feed her.

Trap-Jaw Ants Are Picky Eaters, Was Probably Not Interested In The Food You Provided.

Re: ID Request
All my other trap jaws enjoy eating anything I give them: honey, sugar water, honey water, cricket, termites, chicken, boiled egg, fried egg, and fruits. She also eats it but not as much as the other queens.
