Hydrating plaster formicarium .

What's the best way to hydrate a plaster formicarium ?

I make my grout formicariums and i hydrate them by having a separate chamber not connected to the ants tunnels for water. The chamber has a small tube coming out the side for filling with water. :D
With all the things ants can do, you wonder, who rules the planet :?
