Its better to keep the nanitics with the queen in the test tube setup in situations like you explained in the beginning of this post for her to feel secure but since you don't know where they are, its better to just place her in a darker spot and wait. The good thing is you know you have a fertile queen. Now hope for the best. Good luck..:)

I don't think she has the energy to found colony from beginning as she has already used her food reserves in the biginning.
It is better if you brood boost the queen.

There are some AntsCanada tutorials for brood bosting.

Is it fine that I have given her sugar that has now mixed with water? And is it true that the eggs take 8-10 weeks to hatch?

You really don't have to check on her, but if you want to, you can check on her once or twice a week.
