sugar or sugar water.? I'd say a regular test tube set up is the best solution in such situations. Just put her in a dark spot.

If you want to keep her and don't have any experience keeping ants, I would recommend watching the tutorials from AntsCanada on youtube.

Your testube has water in it stopped with cotton? and cotton blocking the exit? If so, take a drinking straw (an inch in length should do) and stuff it between the side of the tube and the exit cotton. this acts as a tunnel for the ants to travel through. place the setup in a outworld with a baby powder or fluon border. then place whatever food you plan on feeding them in the outworld, not the tube. ( feeding in the tube makes a giant mess and stresses out the colony.)

I think you'll be fine. Lasius Niger is a pretty easy species to keep. Just remember to do research and don't disturb the queen to much GOOD LUCK :D

I put water and cotton. Now I have to wait 8-10 weeks will she lays eggs and they hatch. How often should I check on her?

checking on a queen once every week is completely fine and if she feels safe and comfortable, she'll soon lay eggs again.
