Very interesting... i have found that just leaving the queen there for a couple of days will eventually calm them down. I have had ones that even after a couple of days are still struggling not get out. Just to clarify; you meant like a piece of grass, and put it in he tube with the queen?
No like a plastic straw haha
Oh ok

Ok yeah! lots of ant keepers use this set up, and I recommend it to people daily. Although why don't you have cotton in between the straw and the tube? Here is what I mean:

Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

I think we are both talking about different uses of the straw. I scrolled through that website and saw a picture of the straw leading out of the test tube. I simply keep a small price of straw in the test tube so the ant can go into the straw as if it’s a cave. The straw is in the test tube and I removed the cotton to show it
