Myrmica claustral or semi?
I am pretty sure they are semi-claustral (my source here: http://antfarm.yuku.com/reply/124946/Fully-Clusteral-vs-SemiClusteral-Parasitic-Colony-Foundin#.WSbm-lQpChD). However my Myrmica queen likes to stay in the corner of the forging area or the test tube with water. She hasn't touched the honey or small piece of turkey I put in the forging area. What should I do?

Re: Myrmica claustral or semi?
Claustral or semi-claustral are only really relevant once the queen is laying eggs. Remember that at this time of year, Myrmica will have already had brood to care for, so the ant will probably be reluctant start over again.

I just checked on her and she has laid eggs, so should I keep her?Batspiderfish wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2017 9:45 pmClaustral or semi-claustral are only really relevant once the queen is laying eggs.
