I have a small colony still in the test tube, i was sorting through soil when i found her and a worker, nothing else though. i put her in a test tube and has layed eggs. I attatched a small outworld and the one worker has eaten some honey i put in it. The outworld is next to my geckos cage and gets a decent amount of light. I have the test tube covered with some cloth but some light still gets in. Does the outworld need to be light?

It doesn't half too. Some people put it near their window so when it's sunny outside it's sunny for the ants, and when its dark outside it's dark for the ants.

Ummm, Yeah I would not suggest placing your setup near a window. I have done this and.... the sun killed my whole colony....
Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
