Mold in the test tube.

Hi guys, this may sound like a stupid question but I was wondering, everyone says look for mold in the test tube, but I've found myself wondering what I'm looking for? I understand that it would be on the cotton, but I don't know what colours or how obvious it is meant to be. for example white or grey mold would be very difficult to see in cotton, so any tips??

Yellow mold is usually the one that ends up being a problem, but that usually only happens if the ants were overfed protein or fed protein inside the sealed tube.
