Looking for infested plants with aphids on them is unlikely, but try and look for wild colonies of ants that care for them or aphid predators.

I highly doubt it.
Aphids are considered a pest and can damage or destroy plants.

Also to keep aphids in your setup you would need plants for the aphids to live on. That means you need to plant them in your outworld and keep them watered. If you do that your ants are going to decide that they'd much rather dig their own nest than live in whatever formicarium you have provided to them and you'll lose sight of what your colony is doing.

They'll go for anything. You may want to put a more resilient plant in with them. Make sure it isn't poisonous.

Well if you're putting them in dirt anyway then it's possible.

Although I'm now reading (do not take this as 100% accurate or true) that apparently aphids are plant genus/species specific so that would make your task more difficult.
