can solenopsis invicta ants breed with their own males from the same colony

ants mate because weather changes and like a trillion more factors, being in the same container most certainly won't trigger these effects, in fact breeding ants in captivity is not even attempted on scientific levels if I'm correct
imo theoretically if you'd have a 100x100x100 meters greenhouse where you could create artificial weather you could have a bunch of male alates mate a few queens but I doubt you'll have success in anything smaller
tho 1% chance is still chance so you could try obviously
edit: and I missed the part that they are from the same colony, so let's half those chances

alright thank you because i caught like 8 queens wandering around a nest with wings and i am not sure if they are fertal and i got some males when i scooped them up. like 3 of the queens had no wings so i guess ill see what hapends

My bet is if they were around the nest still they had yet to fly and mate. They ones with no wings already...dunno what to tell ya a there. . I hope I find me a Solenopsis queen this year. Have always been intrigued by "Fire Ants"
