The last post was August of last year...
Did the queen survive? How is she doing if she did?
I have one right now, got her all the way to a worker with 2 additional larvae so far. I keep her in a test tube with a nice base of sand inside, enough for her to dig her own tiny tunnels. I hydrate her soil almost daily with several drops of water from a pippet. If you don't have one, you could also place a small piece of moist cotton in the tube and squeeze it out against the sand to hydrate. Just be careful not to flood the tube itself. My research has shown they are picky eater, sometimes eating egg yolk or frozen fruit flies and some times eating only living flies or even rejecting both. I have not seen anyone say they don't like springtails though.

Today I caught a young colony of Ponera Pennsylvanica with 1 queen and 8 workers. Yet I was unable to find any brood. This topic is giving me some good advice.
"God made every kind of wild beasts and every kind of livestock and every kind of creeping things;" (including ants) "and God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:25
