Heating a mini hearth

Hi,

Does anyone know the best way to heat a mini hearth with a 15 watt zoo med heating cable? It’s for my camponotus novaeboracensis colony.

Thanks

I take it that with mini hearth you mean a small ant setup. Unless you mean the center of a setup. Anyway, I would recommend what was recommended to me when I bought and asked. Don't put it straight underneath the nest, unless the setup is big enough for the ants to move to a different place and also as long as the heating pad isn't covering the whole nest. Just lean the heating pad against a standing setup and don't glue it onto it.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.
