Queens out of water

My queens are out of water within the test tube setup, how do I get them more water? It is urgent because I just added another test tube to the end of the original but I know they will suffocate that way.

Tape the tubes together with just the slightest gap in between and poke holes in the tape for air

Of course I have heard a lot of the more experienced guys mention this to ppl trying to move their queens into new tubes.
