Re: When is the new hybrid nest coming out?
So the new nests are going to be 8 x 8 and the old ones discontinued. Just curious. If you raise a colony to say 25-50 workers as recommended, will the new 8 x 8 nest be ok for this size or will you have to wait longer until they are even bigger say 75-100 workers to prevent them from having too much space in their nest and leaving their garbage inside?

Yes, new nests will be 8x8 and old ones discontinued. We will be offering one 4x4 generic nest design that will allow for a better transition path for growing colonies.AntsArizona wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2017 2:14 pmSo the new nests are going to be 8 x 8 and the old ones discontinued. I put one of my Tetramorium colonies in the new 8x8 Formica nest and they are doing fine, even though the chambers are a little large for them. I had added sand as a substrate in the nest and they customized it to their liking. In the beginning, they did use some of the chambers as a trash pile, but over time, they moved the trash outside into the outworld and are now inhabiting the entire nest space.

Isn't the production of the current Hybrids just about 1-2 weeks?

It varies depending on demand. Right now, we are about 2-3 weeks out.Jadeninja9 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2017 5:54 pmIsn't the production of the current Hybrids just about 1-2 weeks?

Do we have an eta on when the Old ones will be discontinued? Meaning, will they be discontinued right when the 8x8's come out or will they be on there for a little while in conjunction with the 8x8 and then be discontinued at a later date.ooper01 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2017 3:57 pmYes, new nests will be 8x8 and old ones discontinued. Also, the new generic 4x4. Will they be based off the Hybrid Version 2s or completely new? Do we know which nest it will look like? (Tetra, lasius, solenopsis etc)
Re: When is the new hybrid nest coming out?
The release of the 7 Hybrid Nest designs will be staggered. The first one will be Formica. We expect to have these available in September sometime. At that point, the old version 2 Formica Hybrids will no longer be available. We are hoping to have Lasius, Camponotus and Tetramorium designs ready around the 1st of December. At that point, those v2 versions will no longer be available.AntsArizona wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2017 9:46 amDo we have an eta on when the Old ones will be discontinued? The first batch was completed late last week! We need to photograph them and get them up on the web store. Shouldn't be too much longer now
