I've had my solonopsis queen ant for about a month now and about a week after I had her in complete darkness she started laying eggs. Its been another 3 weeks and it seems that nothing has changed except the amount of eggs.
I have her in my walk-in closet, which has no A/C vents so temp is probably around 78-80 degrees. She is wrapped in a blanket for complete darkness.
Is it too cold? Is she not fertilized? Do I just need to wait longer?

A follow up question:
What happens when a queen has not been fertilized? Will she even lay eggs?

Re: Lots of eggs, no larvae
An unfertilised queen can potentially still lay male alate eggs
Re: Lots of eggs, no larvae
An unfertilized queen will lay eggs and rear them as if they were workers. Only time can tell.
