Update: (Feb 20, 2018)

The colony is now in my living room and the workers and queen are all back to normal behavior. I can tell they drank some of the honey I gave them because their gasters are a lot bigger now.

Just to be safe, you should soak the Outworld and the tubes in very hot soapy water to disinfect it, then rinse it off with more hot water.
