I have a hybrid 2.0 and the caps, the end pieces that have tiny holes in them, can fall out of the nest. How do I stop this?
Never seen this. The plugs fit snugly into the Hybrid entry/exit holes on all Hybrids I have tested. Which Hybrid Nest do you have?

Re: Problem with my Hybrid Nest

Hi Ooper! I just came back to the forum after a few years and I'm excited to see that it is busy as ever! I also see there are a fair share of phony posts/advertisements. Sorry you guys have to deal with that. Has it steadily gotten more prominent or is this a sudden influx? Spam posts fluctuate. W...

Just wondering. Did this ever get figured out?
We don't use the mesh anymore with our new Hybrid Nests. We had occasional problems with it, like in this case, so we had to design something different.

Re: Red harvester help?

I'm in Salt Lake too (Bluffdale). Harvester flights here are late July or early August. They have time to generate an initial set of 5-8 nanitics, stockpile a few seeds, and then "yes" hibernate for the winter.

Re: Is this a queen? I cant tell

Hard to tell from this one photo. My initial guess is that it is not a queen, based on the size of the thorax. Usually the thorax (middle body section) is much larger as it houses the muscles used for wings and flight.

Re: Red harvester help?

I use a test tube connected to an AntsCanada Test Tube Portal for my semi-claustral queens, like harvesters. The Test Tube Portal serves as a mini outworld. Place into the Portal bits of insects, crushed grains, crushed dog/cat food, small amounts of honey, or a sugar water test tube connected to an...

Can you confirm that these are okay to use as founding chambers? I have a queen Camponatus Floridanus in one and was worried i'd messed up, i'd feel a lot better if that's actually one of their purposes!
Yes, perfectly fine to use Ant Towers as founding chambers.
