That's super unfortunate! I actually fed my larger Iridomyrmyx colony yesterday? Bit of honey, scared the crap out of them, but they should be ok! Unless they drown in the honey....I will be removing the honey tommorrow, so they should be fine and fed :D :lol: The hobby is very hit or miss I've found.

I'd recommend buying Test tubes for your queens.

They can possibly be good, but more Often then not, they will the brood until workers arrive, and then fight to do the death.

I'd say it looks like a Camponotus or Formica ant, but I'd wait for a second opinion.
