My colony has curently 700 workers. The drop of honey water and a piece of an insect work even when the colony is young.
And at What count of workers should i start with this?
After the first workers close, give them a few days like around 3 and then feed them.

2 questions related to 2 queens I have

So today is pretty much the first warm day in NYC. Today while walking into the park I found a Lasius queen. I know what ant she is because I recognize her colors, but I need to check the name real quick. Is it a good idea to just leave her slightly on a heat pad and wait for her to get going? In ad...

Just a quick suggestion for the forums.

Just for easier transitions between the forum website and main website, I got an idea. Not sure if this is a good idea or not, but would like to hear people's opin...

I use bottlecaps as feeding dishes
That usually works. Sometimes I get something like a piece of wood, and stick the food in using some sort of pin to hold them in place.

An ant based Discord for advanced or new people!

For the past few months, I've been looking into making Discord servers. There are loads of ant keepers, but few ways for them to greet. So, I've created a Discord just for that! So far, we have no people, but are looking for advanced people to help identify ants, all the way to completely new ant ke...

Re: Australian Ant Update

Really? I'm pretty sure that I saw an ant species that looked very similar to lasius niger. People confirmed and said that they * stowed * away on trade ships from Europe lol. Anyway, I didn't get to see any of the really cool looking ant species there, but I'm happy with the amazing unique ones I ...
