Another place to look is under stones but, it isnt the most common place to find them. Best places are stumps or rotting logs.

I was hoping with the rain today in Kentucky, I would be able to find some queens. Though after walking around for 30 minutes I couldn't even find a worker. I'm figuring it probably cooled off to much from the rain for any to be out. I live and louisville and I have only see one ant so far this year
