Yup, I'm raising two L. Niger colonies and one L. Flavus and i find the L. Niger colonies easier to raise. For example: The L.Niger colonies are way more successful than the L.Flavus colony + that the L.Flavus are subterranean wich means that they hunt underground. :shock: Woah, how does undergroun...

Yup, I'm raising two L. Niger colonies and one L. Flavus and i find the L. Niger colonies easier to raise. For example: The L.Niger colonies are way more successful than the L.Flavus colony + that the L.Flavus are subterranean wich means that they hunt underground.

Happy hibernation! Remember to keep the fridge on its warmest setting and when removing them from hibernation for the first hour watch for flooding as the setup returns to room temperature. Yes it worked. It created a temperature gradient in my Hybrid nest so the portion of the nest near the heat source was warmer than other areas. The ants would position the larvae up against the wall where the heat cable was. Now I don't know if a higher wattage would have been better or not, since ...
