Thank you Just saved me so much money...only place I could find tubes was charging me 3$ per Awesome!! Yeah that should get you by while you're hunting queens. ...

Upright Sand Nest w/ Outworld
Just wondering if anyone has made an upright Sand Nest. I've seen a youtube video somewhere where someone made one out of wood and plexiglass and allowed the ants to tunnel through soil. Basically a larger DIY Uncle Milton Farm and connected to an outworld. I mainly want to know if Sand can be used ...

Re: Test Tube Alternatives
Looks like someone beat me too it and recommended those water Pik things from floral shops. When I was searching for test tubes, i found small ones at Hobby Lobby but what really worked was using Google Maps and searching "Teaching supplies." I was able to find a teaching supplies store which had sc...

Re: Hello From Arizona
I'm in Arizona as well. And I caught 13 queens a few nights ago, which I'm fairly sure they are imported fire ants. I haven't been lucky enough to find a harvester flight yet. Wow nice! I think I might have caught 1 possible fire ant. But i know I have like 20+ Brachymyrmex Patagonicus (Rover Ants)...

Arizona Queen Ant ID please!
Hello! Just started collecting last month. I'd say around mid July. 85% of the queen alates I've found wandered close to or into my apartment. Surroundings are grass and a nearby dirt field where corn is being grown. Location: Gilbert, AZ Temps: low 80s to 107 F Size: About 4-5mm (very small) If som...

Re: Tucson Arizona and hibernation
Hello. I'm from Gilbert Arizona and asked a similar question for my founding colonies. From what I gathered, it sounds like we just need to move them to a place slightly warmer than outside temps like an attic or basement. I'll probably store mine in a box close to my patio door where it will be co...

Re: Soon to be Arizona GAN farmer
Hello Everyone! Just wanted to say hi since I'm here in Gilbert, AZ. I started collecting mid last month in July and have collected 20-25 potential queens all in test tube setups. Some of which I have peeked at and saw some eggs. Haven't had a chance to get good pictures yet to ID but I'm guessing i...
